The Navajo Nation is the size of West Virginia, 40 percent of the Nation members don’t have access to running water in their homes. The poverty rate is above 40%, unemployment 24.1%, Navajo who work construction must travel far from the Nation to maintain seasonal work; Naat’áanii was formed to win contracts on the $1B Gallup Water Supply Program. We are a group of experienced pipeline men and women, Naat’áanii bylaws require the Corporation to be 100% Indian owned, assuring Navajo employment and badly needed economic activity for the Navajo Nation. Naat’áanii’s Alcohol Management Program, plans “nahat’á” implementing systems to keep workers and man camps free of alcohol. Daily, company leadership council workers and their families about the hardship alcohol brings to Navajo people.
